Policy, Accessibility & Inclusivity
SUBSDANCE is committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming, and accessible environment for all performers, crew, and audience members. We recognize and celebrate diversity in ability, body, neurotype, and identity. Our goal is to remove barriers wherever possible and make participation a positive experience for everyone.
Respect for All
Treat all performers, staff, and audience members with respect, kindness, and professionalism. Discrimination, harassment, or inappropriate behavior of any kind (including but not limited to race, gender, sexuality, body, or experience level) will not be tolerated. SUBSDANCE is a safe space for all identities and expressions—support and uplift each other.
Zero Tolerance for Discrimination
We have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, racism, whorephobia, homophobia, or any form of discriminatory behaviour towards performers, staff members, organisers or anyone involved in the event. Such behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
This includes, but is not limited to:
-
The event environment
-
Social events
-
Group chats
-
Social media platforms
-
Any other related interactions
All incidents will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by event organizers. We are committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and empowering environment for everyone involved.
By participating in the SUBSDANCE Show as performer, team member or audience member, you are agreeing to uphold these standards. Together, we can ensure that the event is a place where everyone feels welcome, respected, and supported. Thank you for helping us create a positive and empowering environment for all.
Accessibility for Performers
Performers may request a “relaxed performance” environment, where:
-
Music volume can be adjusted
-
Lighting can be modified
-
The audience is encouraged to remain quiet or refrain from clapping
A quiet space is available next to the stage, offering performers a few minutes of calm before they go on. Only one performer will be permitted in the space at a time.
Trigger or content warnings will be communicated clearly before any performance involving potentially distressing material or sounds.
Venue Accessibility

-
The restaurant, bar, and gallery are all step-free and fully accessible from the street.
-
There is a dropped curb at both ends of the road where the venue is located.
-
Accessible toilets are available.
Communication & Support

-
Any changes to the timing or order of the show will be clearly communicated to all performers in advance.
-
Our team is happy to discuss any individual needs or accommodations—please feel free to reach out ahead of the event.
